I agree with you. Some of the worst songs I've ever heard were released as singles, and what I really despise is that it's fairly common for albums to only have a few singles, like, say, 5 singles. The singles are the ones that get played on the radio, or the ones that are supposed to be the hit. And then the full album is never released. Kinda sucks, but then again, it's called capital-R Rock. And capital-R stands for marketable. Songs that sound really good are sometimes given no chance to get an audience, while awful songs are pushed to the front. Which is why I can't really love rock music.
It's a very sad reality, because it goes against everything artists want to do. I mean, this is why I have a passion for music and don't want to hear the worst of it. But there's only so much human talent can do when it's limited to 4 or 5 songs and the label says it's gotta be a single. Maybe that's why I'm so down on the art form.
I'm kind of jealous of that because I always listen to full albums first and then pick songs I want to hear, which is exactly why this is such a shitty fanboy-rock thing to do. I don't want to hear the 4 songs that make up the album. I want to hear the best songs on the album. I just want to be entertained by the music.
^^^ Whoa, you seem really different from your Twitter avatar. Weird.
Anyway, to prove my point, here's the answer to your question. Why do I think people like to read my reviews? Because I put a lot of thought into them. Sometimes I'll base them on my personal opinions about the artist or songs I'm rating. But sometimes I'll try and figure out what the audience is like, and what they're looking for, to give them the best information on an album. I think most of my reviews are like that. But I always try to give an honest review. I don't always rate the music 9/10 or some arbitrary number like that. I really put a lot of effort into my reviews, and I want people to know that.New information revealed in an IRS memo obtained by The Huffington Post shows that the IRS attempted to target tea party
