How to wait for onchange of dropdown to set value in form submit
The following problem is a little different than most others I've seen because I have to add an event listener to a element, not a element. I'm working on a custom form that relies on the JavaScript function hasChanged to fire when the user changes the dropdown in order to set the form's value. I want the form to submit, but the problem is that the new value is not set until onChange is fired, which is too late.
Here is the code for reference:
$("#mySelect").on('change', function() {
$('#myForm').val($(this).val());
if ($(this).val() === "x") {
$(this).val("");
$(this).change();
} else {
$('#myForm').val("");
}
});
I tried using the form's submit event but it didn't seem to work:
$("#myForm").submit(function() {

$('#myForm').trigger("hasChanged");
});
I also tried the onclick listener on the element, but it didn't seem to work either.
If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

You are trying to submit the form with JavaScript after it is changed and before the change event fires. This will not work because the change event will not be fired until the form is actually submitted. Your function should be something like this instead:
